These terms are the agreement between you and Jetforge Labs OÜ, an Estonian private limited company, registry code 17116764, registered at Tornimäe tn 5, 10145 Tallinn, Harju County, Estonia (“Jetforge”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Macbrow app for macOS and the website macbrow.co. By installing or using Macbrow you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not install or use Macbrow.
1. What Macbrow is
Macbrow is a macOS app that turns the notch into a shelf for files, a screenshot cleaner, a meeting alert, a music player and a calendar. It processes your information on your Mac and needs no account.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable-only-for-breach licence to install and use Macbrow on Macs you own or control, for your own personal or business use. A Pro licence key can be activated on up to 3 Macs at a time. If you replace a Mac, contact us and we will free up an activation.
You may not: copy or redistribute Macbrow or licence keys, sell or sublicense it, reverse engineer it except where the law allows it despite this clause, remove notices, or use it to break the law.
Macbrow includes open-source and third-party components, which are licensed under their own terms.
3. Plans and price
- Free trial: a new installation includes all of Pro for 14 days, with no card and no account. When it ends you keep the free features and everything you have stored.
- Free: the Shelf, music, battery, clock and basic appearance, free for good. We may change what the free plan includes in future versions, but a version you have already installed keeps working as it is.
- Pro: one-time payment of €7.99, a licence for all features, including all future versions of Macbrow, on up to 3 Macs. There is no subscription.
Prices may change for new buyers. Your existing Pro licence is not affected.
4. Buying Pro
Pro is sold through Gumroad, which acts as Merchant of Record. Gumroad handles payment, VAT, receipts and licence keys, and its terms apply to the purchase. Checkout is at https://jetforgelabs.gumroad.com/l/macbrow. Macbrow checks your licence key with Gumroad’s licence API when you activate it and about every 30 days afterwards.
5. Refunds and right of withdrawal
Refunds are handled by Gumroad, as Merchant of Record, under Gumroad’s terms and the refund policy shown on the Macbrow product page at the time of purchase. To request one, use the link in your Gumroad receipt or contact Gumroad support. If you have trouble, write to us at hello@jetforgelabs.com and we will help.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may have a legal right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. For digital content delivered immediately, that right can end once delivery starts if you expressly agreed to it and acknowledged the loss of the right at checkout. Nothing in this section reduces your rights under section 10 or any other right the law gives you.
6. Updates
Macbrow can check for updates and download them using Sparkle. Updates are signed. We release updates to keep Macbrow working, secure and compatible with current versions of macOS, but we are not obliged to keep releasing updates or new versions indefinitely, except for the updates consumer law requires (section 10). Updates may change features. If a change materially affects how you use Macbrow and you did not agree to it, you may have rights under section 10.
7. Your content
Your files on the Shelf, clipboard history, calendar and reminders stay on your Mac. They belong to you. Jetforge does not have access to them and does not claim any rights over them. You are responsible for your own backups.
8. Permissions and third-party services
Macbrow asks for macOS permissions (calendar, reminders, location, camera, files and automation) only for the features that need them. The weather feature sends your approximate location to MET Norway to request a forecast. Spotify, Music, your calendar provider and other services you use with Macbrow are governed by their own terms.
9. AI output
The Assistant uses Apple’s on-device model and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important before you rely on it, and do not use it as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical decisions.
10. Statutory rights and warranty
Macbrow is provided to you as digital content. If you are a consumer, you have the rights the law gives you if Macbrow does not conform to what we promised, including under the EU Digital Content Directive (EU) 2019/770 as implemented in your country. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Subject to that, and for everyone else: Macbrow and the free plan are provided “as is” to the extent the law permits, and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or for consumer rights that cannot be waived. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Macbrow is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data stored on your Mac.
12. Ending the licence
You can stop using Macbrow at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate your licence if you seriously breach these terms (for example by sharing a licence key publicly), after notice where reasonable. Sections that by nature should survive, do.
13. Third-party software
Macbrow uses third-party software under its own licences, listed in the third-party notices that ship with the app. Those licences apply to those components, not to Macbrow as a whole.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when Macbrow or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will notify you in the app or on macbrow.co. Changes do not reduce the rights you already paid for.
15. Governing law and disputes
Estonian law governs these terms, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. The Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus) in Tallinn has jurisdiction, but as a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform has been discontinued, but you can still contact your national consumer authority.
